When telling the human story of NS11 our aim is to eventually put a face to every crew member lost when the airship came down in flames over the North Sea in July 1919. Lesley Ross has been in touch and has kindly provided an incredible group photo taken at the R. N. Airship Station Longside on 17th January 1919.
Her great uncle, Aircraftman 1 Frederick Cameron is on the back row – the first picture we have of him, one of NS11’s air gunners on the night she was lost. With Lesley’s help we are now nearly half-way to having a photograph for each crew member and we’ll hopefully be adding more to Frederick’s life story.
